Knowledge, collaboration, and daily work in one place

Simbioza is an open application for documentation and collaboration. Pages are organized in workspaces, can have distinct editors and access rights, and can be published in multiple languages. Drafts, pre-publication review, version history, comments, and search keep knowledge useful, accountable, and discoverable.

Flexible sign-in, precise permissions

Alongside local accounts, the Auth module supports SAML, CAS, OpenID Connect, and OAuth2 provider profiles; each installation enables only the providers it uses. Grant rights to users and groups at workspace level, then narrow them on individual pages, including explicit denials. Viewing, adding, editing, publishing, deleting, and managing are separate permissions rather than one all-powerful switch.

Calendars and smarter meeting planning

Use personal, team, and resource calendars on the web; basic CalDAV access also supports compatible calendar clients. When planning a meeting, Simbioza searches participants' free time, checks the availability of rooms and other equipment, and supports approval of resource reservations. Invitations, replies, and a My Meetings view keep the plan connected to the calendar.

An editor that creates more than text

The built-in editor supports images, attachments, cards, tabs, accordions, and dropdown content. Create bar, line, area, pie, and doughnut charts, include another page, and embed current calendar views and task lists. These dynamic elements remain part of the page, with access rights applied to included data.

A look for each community, access for each person

Customize the theme for the whole site, while an individual workspace can have its own isolated theme. The Accessibility module adds personal choices of fonts, contrast, color palettes, and other reading adjustments. These are enhancements: accessible content still depends on clear structure, descriptions, and testing real user journeys.

Bring existing knowledge with you

The Confluence importer carries over page structure, attachments, links, and supported macros. Review the result before publication and verify permissions and private attachments separately. The modular HeartPhrame foundation also lets each installation grow without requiring every module.
